Stoneburner is Live on Kickstarter!

A New Solo-Friendly TTRPG of Demon Hunting and Community Building in a Dwarven Asteroid Mine.

Hey everyone,

I’m very excited to announce that Stoneburner, my new solo-friendly TTRPG of demon hunting and community building, is crowdfunding on Kickstarter!

This game was co-developed by designer and illustrator Galen Pejeau, and we are thrilled to finally show you what we’ve been working on for the past couple of months.

Inspired by the new school revolution (NSR) movement, players take on the role of a group of dwarves who, after the death of a distant relative, inherit a dilapidated settlement, along with its accompanying demon haunted mine. The game focuses on the dwarves' journey as they navigate the challenges of their new responsibilities, rebuild a new thriving community, and clear the mine of its fire-spitting monsters.

Stoneburner is based off the Breathless system, which powers more than 150 games to this date. This system offers rules-light and daunting survival-based mechanics to help convey stories with meaningful consequences.

This game innovates on the Breathless SRD and adds mechanics to handle:

• Using fictional positioning, get the upper hand during your journey.

• Exploring the mines and looting its precious resources.

• Relying on magical items and their powerful abilities.

• Handling demons through swift and consequential combat.

• Earning credits from your loot and upgrading your settlement.

• Crafting strange and powerful magical items to use in your expeditions.

• Earning visions of glory from your ancestors to grow and become stronger.

• Exploring the world in solo-play, or without a GM.

• Generating and filling the mines' tunnels dynamically with interesting details.

Stoneburner is inspired by the video games DOOM, Deep Rock Galactic, Dwarf Fortress, and the book/TV series The Expanse. In this game, players will choose between the 5 different character classes to fight horrifying monsters, salvage the loot hidden in the haunted mines, get paid, and rebuild a safe and comfy home for them and their community.

The game includes ways for you to create:

• The different factions present in the galaxy.

• The many buildings of your settlement.

• The haunting tunnels and caves that make the cursed mines of The Long Belt.

• The horrifying monsters you'll encounter in the mines.

• The diverse non-player characters that you will face in your journey.

• The magical items that will give you an edge during your excursions.

This world is full of magic, technology, and a wide variety of strange and mysterious creatures, including demons, faes, and otherworldly beings. It is a place where evil corporations, outlaws, and independent colonies coexist alongside each other, creating a complex and dynamic universe where anything is possible.

But your story isn't written in advance. The setting is laid out in a way that allows you to experience an emergent narrative, and create the world you want to play in.
